Posy Simmonds was innate within Berkshire and educated at a boarding school, the Sorbonne and the Central School of Art & Design in London. She began her newspaper career drawing the strip for The Sun in 1969 before joining The Protector as an illustrator within 1972.
Inside 1979 she started drawing the weekly comic strip for The Defender, at first titled A Silent 3 of St. Botolph's as a tribute to the Fifties strip The Silent Three by Evelyn Flinders. the strip revolve about ternion Fifties schoolfriends in their late, middle-class & about middle-aged spends: Wendy Weber, a previous nurse married to polytechnic sociology lecturer George using the big brood of tykes; Jo Heep, married to whiskey salesman Edmund sustaining deuce rebellious adolescent; & Trish Wright, married to philandering advertising executive Stanhope with the immature child. A strip, which was recently ungentle & ordinarily known even as "Posy", ran until a late 1980s. It was collected into the total of books: Mrs Weber's Diary, Pick of Nosegay, Super Posy & Pure Posy, & of these original cartoon book featuring a equivalent characters, True Love. Her later on cartoons for The Defender & The Spectator were collected as Mustn't Grumble'' within 1992.
Inside 1987 Simmonds turned her hand to writing, likewise when illustrating, kids's books. In the late 1990s Bouquet returned to the web sites of The Protector by using Gemma Bovery, which reworked a story of Gustave Flaubert's Madame Bovary into a satiric tale of English exile around France. It was published as a graphic novel within 1999. Literary Life appeared in The Tutelar's "Review" divisiin on Saturdays from either November 2002 until December 2004. A single gathered edition of Literary Life cartoons has been published.
Corsage's todays Custodial series, Tamara Drewe, mass produced its début in the View segment in 17 September 2005, in a first Saturday paper when the Custodial's relaunch in the Berliner format.
